Friends and Supporters,

Well, we came up a little short Tuesday on the journey we started about 13 months ago. We gave it our best effort and I covered the 10 counties the best I could. I respect the judgment and decision of the voters who cast ballots in the election.

First, I want to convey my congratulations to Jim Sharp for his victory, and I wish him well as he prepares to assume office at the end of the year.

Most importantly, I want to take one more opportunity to express my thanks to you. I am deeply humbled by, and appreciate, the effort all of you made on my behalf. You went above and beyond the call in your assistance to me, when you welcomed me into your communities and voted for me. Having met so many great people and made so many new friends, I have no regrets. I believe in the rule of law and in the fundamental principles that guide our society. In that sense, this journey was worth the effort.
