Is it normal to feel pain after wearing a posture belt?
I’m 19 and I’m trying to correct my posture as I slouch all the time. I had a back x-ray which showed that there was nothing wrong with my spine, just the way I held myself. So I recently bought a posture corrector from ebay.

I’ve been wearing it on and off for 2 days now…The belt does seem to work. I’m standing much taller when I’m wearing it and can maintain the posture a little longer after taking it off.
However, I’m starting to feel some pain in my abdominal area which is making me wonder whether the posture belt is forcing me into an unnatural position. Or is it because I’m now using new muscles that are weak from lack of use? Is it normal to feel pain at this stage? How long should I wear it for each day?
I am not familiar with posture belts per se. But I do know when someone with poor posture starts to correct their posture, there can be a level of discomfort. You have to remember it takes a while to develop poor posture, and it will take a while to correct it. As for the abdominal pain, that is also normal. Our abdominal muscles are largely responsible for humans to be able to walk and stand upright. It is these core muscles that help your back maintain its upward stance. As your core muscles strengthen, the discomfort will dissipate.
Try wearing the belt for a couple of hours a day, and increase by 30 minutes a day. Also always be aware of your posture even without the belt on. The more conscientious you are of your posture, the more you will be able to correct it.
I also want to praise you in your desire and effort to correct your posture. So many people today don’t even consider posture as a relevant issue to appearance and health.
